Hanoi - Sa Pa - Ha Giang - Ba Be (11 days)

Trip length:  11 Days / 10 Nights by motorcycle

Highlights:   Visit to most beautiful village of Sapa, Dong Van Karst Plateau, Ba    Be National Park and learn cultural life of hill tribes: H’mong, Dzao, Giay, Tay, Nung, Pu Peo, Lo Lo…

Day 1. Hanoi – Lao cai

Depart from Ha Noi to Lao Cai at 8:00 am. We will have lunch in Yen Bai and then  arriver Lao Cai at 6:00 pm check in hotel. At leisure . After dinner we will to walk around the city and visit the Chinese border

Day 2. Lao Cai - Sapa come to Cat Cat village

After breakfast, ride to about 37km, we will come to Sa Pa. on the road, we will have complete picture of  the mountain over the pass, terraced fields owned by local minorities peoples. Check-in Hotel. At leisure.

Afternoon, we  go to visit traditional houses of H’mong hill tribe and admiring the beauty of surroundings and enjoying the hospitality of the H'mong children at Cat Cat village. Dinner and overnight in Sapa.

Day 3. Sapa - Lao Chai - Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai

Have breakfast and check out before the trip starts. Ride go down to Lao Chai village to visit the H'mong and Dzay tribes. Then keep going along the bottom of the Sa Pa valley to go to Ta Van village, which is supposed to be the places most beautiful one in the area, leisure and lunch in here. Then we head up to Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Dzao tribe, in here you can see the amazing scenery and beautiful waterfall. Overnight in a homestay

Day 4. Giang Ta Chai - Ban Ho – Sa pa

After breakfast early in the morning, ride to Ban Ho through excellent views of the mountain and natural scenery. Enjoy the surrounds and meet friendly locals who are curiously looking at you or you can have a swim in the river and have lunch time in there. After lunch time we back to Sapa. Afternoon, is free time for you go to visit Ham Rong mountain and Sa Pa Market. Overnight in Sa Pa

Day 5. Sa Pa - Bac Ha

After Breakfast we leaving Sapa to Coc Ly market. After 1hour trekking to visit Take boat trip down along Chay River (one branch of the Red River) crossing many waterfall, caves and beautiful scenes.

Then drive to Bac Ha town. Take short trek around Bac Ha town to visit Hoang A Tuong’s palace - known as the King of Meo (H’mong people) during French colonialism and a local village of H’mong people nearby. Enjoy dinner with tasty Tao-Meo-wine (local wine made from H’mong’s apple). Overnight in Bac Ha.

Day 6. Bac Ha - Hoang Su Phi - Ha Giang

After breakfast. Today we will Ride all day to go to Ha Giang city via Xi Man and Hoang Su Phi. Along the way we can encounter the ethnic people: Nung, Tay, Red Dzao, La Chi, Co Lao and some tribe stay on the hill, groups who have settled in the area. Hoang Su Phi are also very famous for their terraced rice fields cultivated by local peoples for hundreds years. Lunch en route at Hoang Su Phi town.

Continue ride to Ha Giang with stop to visit Tay hill tribe’s village and enjoy beautiful scene of rivers, forests and mountain of Northeast Vietnam. Check in hotel. Dinner and overnight in Ha Giang.

 Day 7. Ha Giang - Quan Ba - Yen Minh - Dong Van

“For the local inhabitants, Dong Van karst plateau, with up to 60% of limestone exposures, is not only mighty scenary but also their cradle of life endowed to them from earth and heaven”
Dong Van karst plateau Geopark (to include Quan Ba - Yen Minh - Dong Van - Meo Vac, 4mountainous districts of Ha Giang Province) was recognised as the first global geopark of Vietnam since October 3rd, 2010 - make it a-must-visit place once in the life time.

After breakfast at hotel, we head north our of Ha Giang via Quan Ba Heaven Gate. We go around the Na Khoang village before to Yen Minh town for lunch.

After lunch time we continue with visit to Vuong Dynasty art architecture relics  - a former palace of Meo people,  and Sa Phin village. Followed by visit to Lung Cu flag tower - the northernmost tip of Vietnam. Back to Dong Van Town for dinner and accommodation.

Day 8. Dong Van - Meo Vac

Morning trek around the town to visit Dong Van ancient town and Dong Van market (opens only on Sunday) and visit 2 village of H’mong and Lo Lo hill tribes. Ride to Meo Vac - which is inhabited mostly by the H’mong, Lo Lo and Pu Peo ethnic minority people who Here, they still retain traditions and their cultural identities through the centuries. Stop on the way at the famous Ma Pi Leng Pass at an altitude of over 2000 meters to admire the scenery typical of the region Ma Pi Leng is one of the  clusters of karst cones and continuous cliffs, which constitute an unmatched  landscape, Dinner and overnight in Meo Vac town.

Day 9. Meo Vac - Bao Lac - Bac Me - Ba Be National Park

After breakfast we leave Meo Vac ride to Ba Be National Park. We cross small villages of local hill tribes of : Tay, Nung, H’mong, Dao,viewed they to make handicrafts and cultures villages, meeting the daily life in the wild environment. Lunch en route at local. Arrive in Ba Be in the afternoon, a boat trip will take us to Pac Ngoi village of Tay tribe. Dinner and overnight in a homestay

Day 10 Cruise on Ba Be Lake

After breakfast, we take a boat cruise down the Nang River which is the main water source of the lake, enjoy the tranquil of the nature at Ba Be National Park. On the way to visit Puong cave, Dau Dang Waterfalls and An Ma Island. Have lunch at restaurant. We will find the best place for swimming or take an easy hike to meet Ethnic people living along the lake. Return to Pac Ngoi village in late afternoon. Dinner and overnight in local

Day 11. Ba Be - Ha Noi.

Leave Ba Be for Hanoi with stop at Thai Nguyen, known as “the tea kingdom of Vietnam” to visit The Museum of Ethnology and to enjoy fresh green tea. Arrive Hanoi in the late afternoon.
