Northwest of Vietnam is always an ideal destination for all Vietnam adventure tours and Vietnam motorcycle tours because of its amazing landscape of the mountains, colorful markets on the way and many ethnic groups with unique ways of living, customs and habits to experience.

Highlight : Ha Noi – Mai Chau – Son La – Tuan Giao – Muong Lay – Sapa – Bac Ha – Luc Yen –Vu Linh – Hanoi

 

 Day 1: Hanoi To Mai Chau (160 km


After breakfast, we start our ride to Mai Chau. Once out of the Red River Delta, which brims with traditional farming activity, we pass through limestone monoliths and into foothills populated by Muong people. We head straight at the main range before breaching a high and beautiful forested pass, which descends into the hidden valley of Mai Chau where we spend the night with friends in a traditional Thai stilt house in a Thai village.

 

Day 2: Mai Chau To Son La (185 km)


After breakfast, we ride to Son La, a stop in Moc Chau with hundreds of giant grass farm for cows, You will know why this is the biggest milk centre in Vietnam, continue to Son La and enjoy the view of the Northern mountains, arrive in Son La at noon, check in hotel before visit “Son La prison" in the French war. Walk around the town and overnight in Son La

 

Day 3: Son La To Muong Lay (200 km)

Heading out northwest from Son La, the road crosses a series of mountain passes and areas of busy Black Thai activity. Children walk to school, kids tend buffaloes, women plant rice seedlings and men pull the buffalo. Continue on scenic road to Muong Lay, a very lovely town by the bank of the Black River.

 

Day 4: Muong Lay To Xin Ho And Sapa (200 km)


Ride to Sa Pa, during your way, you will see many different ethnic villages of the Lao, Lu, Black Dao, Tien Dao, Day, Red H'mong before driving up to the highest pass in Vietnam - Hoang Lien Son. Stop over at “Heaven Gate” for a wonderful view down to amazing valley and Fanxipang - the highest mount in Vietnam (Roof of Vietnam). You also visit “Silver Waterfall” - the nicest one in the area before getting to your hotel in Sapa. Overnight in Sapa.

 

Day 5: Sapa Relax


The Queen of the Mountains, Sapa sits regally overlooking a beautiful valley, lofty mountains towering over the town on all sides. Welcome to the destination in northwest Vietnam, gateway to another world of mysterious minority cultures and luscious landscapes. The spectacular scenery that surrounds Sapa includes cascading rice terraces that spill down the mountains like a patchwork quilt. The mountains are often shrouded in mist that rolls back and forth along the peaks, offering tantalising glimpses of what lies in wait on a clear day. The valleys and villages around Sapa are home to a host of hill-tribe people who wander in to town to buy, sell and trade. Today is free at leisure to relax or visit Sapa on own. Overnight in Sapa.

 

Day 6: Sapa To Bac Ha (120 km)


Today we ride toward Bac Ha and visit one of the below markets which are always the colorful meeting places for the hill tribes. Minority people come down from the mountains to sell their products, or just for catching up on the latest news, gossip, drinking away troubles or seeking for lover.

Market days: Coc Ly – Tuesdays, Can Cau – Saturdays, Bac Ha – Sundays, Cao Son – Wednesdays, Lung Khau Nhin – Thursdays . Tonight, we stay in Bac Ha.

 

Day 7: Bac Ha To Luc Yen


After breakfast, we will continue our trip to Luc Yen via Xin Man where you will have opportunity to see some many beautiful mountains dotted with many ethnic villages. If it falls on Sunday, you can also visit a lively market in Sin Man. Continue to Luc Yen for overnight at our friend's family – homestay.

Day 8: Luc Yen – Vu Linh (65 km)

Morning ride to Vu Linh village of the Dao people by the side of Thac Ba lake which has an area of 23,400 ha and 1,331 islands and hills with diverse ecological environments. The water in the lake is blue and clear, and imprinted with the reflections of the surrounding ancient forest.Tonight, we will stay in the homestay with our friend's family. The welcome is exceptional with a lot of ricewine and laughter

 

Day 9: Vu Linh To Hanoi (180 km)


After breakfast we cruise southeast on Highway 2 and then branch off to the sleepy town of Phu Tho. We follow the edge of the Red River along the dyke, almost to the point where it merges with the Black River after which they flow together to Hanoi. By now we are very much in the lowlands of the delta plains and the north's main agricultural areas. Harvest time here is a sea of activity. Crossing the Black River by bridge, we pass through Son Tay and then return to Hanoi on the highway.
